Santa Fe|Where Every Soul Finds Peace ✨
This guide groups nearby attractions and accommodations together for easier planning. We spent four days and four nights here—feel free to adjust based on your own itinerary! The best time to visit is between August and October 🍂, when the weather is comfortable both day and night, despite the significant daily temperature swings. ▶️ Downtown Santa Fe The nearest major airport is in Albuquerque; from there, it’s a 1.5-hour drive to Santa Fe. On our first night, we stayed at the famous The Inn of the Five Graces—so beautiful that I dedicated a whole post to it! 🏺 Each room is filled with handmade tiles and reflects local heritage. Its central location makes it easy to explore major sites on foot. Founded by the Spanish, Santa Fe is the second-oldest European-settled city in the U.S. All buildings here are made of traditional adobe and wood. It’s also a cultural hub for Native American communities and has long attracted artists from around the world. 🎨 You’ll find countless boutiques, art galleries, and Indigenous markets—some even set up right on the portal of the Palace of the Governors. To truly understand the region’s history, don’t miss the New Mexico History Museum and the Museum of Art on the Plaza. These museums are housed in historic buildings that transport you back to the Old West. Another highlight is the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum 🖼️—New Mexico was her home later in life, and this museum holds the largest collection of her works. ▶️ Taos (North of Santa Fe) Nestled beneath the Rocky Mountains, Taos Pueblo is one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the U.S. Please check opening times in advance, as it occasionally closes to respect local residents. 🏔️ From Santa Fe, it’s about an hour’s drive. While in Taos, also visit the Taos Art Museum at Fechin House and the San Francisco de Asis Mission Church—a beautiful blend of Spanish colonial and Pueblo architecture. Note: Museums and shops in Taos close early! ⏰ Since you’re already in New Mexico, why not embrace the hippie vibe? We stayed at Hotel Luna Mystica 🚐—a unique trailer park hotel where each room is a renovated vintage trailer. At night, we gathered around a bonfire under countless stars 🌌, far from city lights. It’s located along the route from Taos back to Santa Fe. #Travel #USA #NewMexico #Santa Fe #CulturalEscape #ArtAndSoul #VintageVibes 🌵
