Santa Monica | Whole Grilled Eel Roll and Sashimi Platter
I recently discovered a fantastic Japanese restaurant just a stone's throw away from Santa Monica beach. It's only a 10-minute walk, making it the perfect spot to grab a meal before or after a leisurely stroll along the shore. The restaurant stays open until the wee hours of the morning. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by a beautiful canopy of flowers overhead. It's so charming and romantic! [❤️❤️] The menu offers a wide variety of dishes. I ordered a whole table full and was pleasantly surprised to see that the average cost per person was only around $30. That's incredible value for money! In my personal opinion, the sushi roll series is definitely worth trying. The Sashimi Combo for $33.95 is a must-try. The presentation is exquisite, and I couldn't help but take several photos. At this price, you get such a generous amount of sashimi—it's a steal! If you're craving fresh slices of fish, go for it. The portions are substantial, and the quality is quite good. The combo includes salmon, sweet shrimp, red snapper, octopus tentacles, mackerel, amberjack, tuna, and squid. For smaller groups, the six-piece platter is also a good option. This combo also comes with a side of California Roll or Spicy Tuna Roll. Does anyone know California Roll? Simple ingredients, but it's comfortingly delicious. 🥢 The Super Dragon Eel Roll for $19.50 is another standout. It features a whole eel, which is quite fatty and rich. The slightly sweet teriyaki sauce and the tempura shrimp inside make each bite satisfying and hearty. I highly recommend this one! 🍣 The table next to us ordered the Flaming Volcano Roll (probably the Yellow Volcano & Orange Volcano on the menu). They used a blowtorch to ignite the sushi boat, and it looked amazing and delicious. Hahaha, we were too full to try it, but if you're up for something exciting, go for it! 🔥 The Mixed Tempura for $11.95 is also worth mentioning. The fried shrimp and sweet potato are crispy and delicious. However, they can get a bit greasy if you eat too much, so it's better to share with a group. 🍤 The Bulgogi Ramen for $15.95 and the Maru Special Ramen for $19.50 are great options if you want something warm after the sashimi. Their ramen portions are generous, and the broth is quite light and refreshing. If you're not into super salty or rich broths, their ramen might just hit the spot. While it may not be on par with LA's top ramen specialists, it's still a comforting bowl of noodles in a sushi restaurant. 🍜 Address: 331 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90401 #santamonica #santamonicafood #santamonicasunset #santamonicaeatery #santamonicaexplore #santamonicanippon #losangelesjapanesefood #losangelesjapanesecuisine #losangelesfoodie #losangelesramen #losangelessushi #losangelesfoodadventure
