Sao Paulo đ§đ· coffee shop & Japanese set meal
đ 1908 | Coffee Stationâ đșïž Rua Coronel Oscar Porto, 840 - ParaĂso, SĂŁo Paulo - SP, 04003-004â Iâve visited 1908 | Coffee Station twice, and though itâs not a posh, over - the - top establishment, thereâs something about it that keeps drawing me back đ€·ââïž.â Nestled near a major transportation hub, this cafĂ© pops up unexpectedly along a wide street. It has an endearing, slightly quirky charm, as if itâs playfully shouting âsurprise!â at passersby đ. To reach it, you have to ascend a small flight of steps from the roadside, leading you to the outdoor patio. Here, a tree with gracefully twisted branches stands tall, adorned with moss balls. These round, fluffy green ornaments add a touch of whimsy to the space đż.â Inside, the cafĂ© sells its own brand of coffee beans and has a tempting display of pastries. Thereâs also a glass - enclosed room that houses the beans, equipped with what looks like professional storage gearâeven if I canât quite decipher how it all works! What truly sets this place apart, though, are the informative wall displays that reveal the story behind the cafĂ©âs name.â The year â1908â marks the arrival of the first group of Japanese immigrants in Brazil. They journeyed on the ship Kasato Maru from Kobe to Santos Port, kickstarting a wave of Japanese migration to Brazil. Over time, Brazil became home to the largest community of Japanese expatriates in the world. The wall exhibits trace the history of Japanese immigrants in Brazil from 1908 all the way to 2023âthe year this very cafĂ© opened its doors đ.â â Food and Flavorsâ One of their most unique offerings is the âWasabi Coffee Ice Cream.â Itâs a flavor explosion! The bitterness of the coffee balances out the sweetness of the ice cream, allowing the pungent kick of wasabi to shine through. Itâs a daring combination that somehow works incredibly well đ.â đ± They also serve bento boxes. I tried the salmon and chicken set, which was a classic Japanese meal complete with umeboshi (pickled plums) and a soft - boiled egg with a runny yolk. While the taste was decent, it didnât quite reach the level of âwowâ for me.â đ° Priceâ The average cost per person is quite reasonable. I canât recall the exact amount, but I do remember leaving without feeling my wallet take a hit đž.â #cafe #RestaurantRecommendations #FoodieAdventures #HiddenGems #GlobalFoodSquad #RomancingWithFood #coffee
