Saragosa cheap and delicious restaurant

🍮 Bermellon: Zaragoza’s Happy Accident—Better Than the Original Plan! Our Zaragoza day trip was packed to the minute (check out my last post for the full itinerary), but we skipped booking a restaurant
big mistake. By the time we trekked over in the heat, our first choice was fully booked. Cue plan B: the restaurant next door. Wow. Same rave reviews, cheaper weekday menus, and more diverse dishes. Sometimes life’s best finds are unplanned! đŸœïž The Weekday Menus (Total Steals!) Two options, both budget-friendly: Menu Aragones (the cheaper one): Fills you up but has fixed dishes—tomato-onion salad (first course) + grilled meat (main). Simple, no frills. Menu del Dia (our pick!): Slightly pricier than the first but still cheaper than most spots, with local flavors and choices. Here’s what we devoured: First courses: My friend’s migas de AragĂłn: Aragon-style fried breadcrumbs mixed with onions, minced meat, and a sunny-side-up egg 🍳. Crunchy, savory, and hearty. Mine: timbal de huevos rotos con patatas y jamĂłn: Classic broken eggs with crispy potatoes and ham—runny yolk + salty ham = perfection đŸ„”. Mains: Friend’s parrillada: A platter of grilled meats 🍖—juicy, charred, and shareable (though they didn’t want to). Mine: ternasco a la aragonesa: Aragon-style lamb đŸ„©â€”tender, mild, and full of herb flavor. Drinks: Water or a glass of red wine đŸ· included. Soda or beer đŸ» cost extra. Since we chose water, the owner treated us to coffee ☕ and tea đŸ”â€”so sweet! Desserts: Friend’s lava cake đŸ«: Gooey center, warm, and rich. My blueberry yogurt 🍇: Obsessed. Handmade, not too sweet, with fresh berries and a drizzle of jam. So good I wanted seconds. 💾 Price & Pro Tips €16.95 per person—insane value, especially for the portions. We were 70-80% full after the first course! Cash only—the only downside. We scraped together €34, but come prepared. The owner is lovely—she kept calling us “mis chicas” (my girls) and checked in to make sure we liked the food. Fun fact: She used to run a herbal medicine shop and loves Chinese herbs—we bonded over that! 📍 Location Win Right next to the Goya Museum, behind Plaza del Pilar. Perfect for a post-meal stroll to burn off that delicious food. #ZaragozaEats #BudgetTravel #HappyMistakes
