Savannah Food & Drink Guide šŸŽ„

Savannah Food & Drink Guide (Part 5) šŸŽ„ This time, I’m sharing two restaurants I’ve visited for the second time! Both were booked for Christmas, specifically to check out what’s new on their holiday menusļ½ž There were pleasant surprises and some letdowns, so foodies, grab a seat and let’s dive in! 1ļøāƒ£ Cha Bella āļøāļøāļøāļø The second visit was just as impressive! The quality didn’t drop at all, no misses throughout the meal, and my hit a new high šŸ’Æļ½ž 🦪 Seared scallops deserve a special mention! The scallops themselves are tender enough to melt in your mouth, with a sweet hint of the sea. Topped with a small slice of bacon, which adds a lovely smoky aroma, plus some crispy fried onion shreds for texture. The sauce is light and doesn’t overpower the scallops’ freshness—you won’t be able to stop at one bite āœ…! 🐟 Daily catch was a nice surprise! The fish is coated in a thin batter, grilled to crispy outside and tender inside, served with pickled shallots and an orange salad. Underneath, there’s baby bok choy and a white sauce, making the whole dish feel refreshing, like a summer mealļ½ž Even on a chilly Christmas night, this dish instantly lifted my mood. If you love light flavors, you’ll adore this āœ…! 🐷 And the old favorite, pork chop! A ā€œregularā€ at Cha Bella, it never fails to deliverļ½ž It looks like a steak but is purely pork. The meat is so tender it cutseasily, with a savory-sweet sauce that pairs perfectly with vegetables—totally satisfying, never disappointing āœ…! 2ļøāƒ£ Elizabeth’s on 37th āļøāļøāļø The second visit coincided with New Year’s, so we tried their holiday fixed menu—seven courses for $115 per person, with two wine pairing options: $45 and $85. We went for the $45 oneļ½ž Unfortunately, it was a bit underwhelming. The wine quality was average, with flavors progressing in intensity just like the dishes, but only one white and one red wine suited my taste; the others were too one-note 😐. The biggest letdown was the dessert wine—it was eggnog, loaded with spices. I drank it before it settled, and the gritty texture scratched my throat, leaving a burning sensation. Total turn-off āŒ! šŸž The bread basket was the same as before: orange jam + cheese biscuits, so delicious I wanted to take some to go—this gets a definite āœ…! 🦪 Grilled mussels were better than last time! On my first visit, they gave us one as a test, but this time it was on the holiday menuļ½ž The mussel meat was plump, in a sweet-sour-spicy sauce with melted cheese, super appetizing and more flavorful than before—this works āœ…! 🦐 Shrimp bisque was the star of the meal! The shrimp were fresh that day, so sweet it’s incredible. The soup had potatoes and onions for creaminess, light yet layered. Perfect as a first course to wake up the appetite—this is the only dish I wanted a second bowl of āœ…! šŸ The two pasta pieces were just okay: spinach and cheese filling in a light, tangy tomato broth. Not rich or impressive, just average. šŸ„— The salad was a standard palate cleanser, but I don’t like beets or goat cheese, so I only ate the greens—slightly disappointing. 🐟 Red snapper was decent: coated in crushed potatoes and fried to a crispy exterior, with juicy flesh and light sides. A good transition after the salad—nothing special, but no complaints. 🄩 The steak tasted great! The beef was tender with a milky flavor, and the sauce was rich, but it came with tons of potatoes. By the sixth course, I was too full to enjoy it properly—such a waste of good flavorļ½ž Taste-wise, it’s worth praising āœ…! šŸ° Finally, the cheesecake—classic dense American style, way too sweet. Plus, I was stuffed by then, so I really couldn’t enjoy it. Not recommended āŒ! #NorthAmericanLife#Food#Savannah#WeekendEats
