Savannah Food Guide
Savannah Food Guide🍴 Picking up where I left off, let’s keep talking about the breakfast spots and cafes I tried in Savannah~ This round is all about carb and caffeine happiness ☕️! 1️⃣ Maple Street Buscuit Company ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A breakfast chain starting in Jacksonville. They open at 7 AM and close at 2 PM, so make sure to go early if you want to try it ☀️! They specialize in Southern-style biscuits and fried chicken. I ordered the "five & dime" and "squawking goat," plus a side of grits. It doesn’t look huge, but I was full halfway through 😂! The food is really good—I’ve always been a fan of gravy and grits, but as with most Southern dishes, it’s a bit salty 🥓. Still, it’s super satisfying—carbo lovers, go for it~ 2️⃣ Maté Factor ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 A favorite cozy café with a lot of character! The interior is retro-styled, and the owner is super friendly ❤️. As the name suggests, while Asia has matcha, South America has maté—and this place specializes in South American maté tea~ It has a roasted aroma, even a hint of barley tea, which is quite unique 🌿. The owner recommended green chai and mayan mocha. I tried the mayan mocha, which has cinnamon and other spices—I loved it! Though it might not be for everyone~ They also have complimentary maté tea to try, paired with small snacks, perfect for a casual ✨. 3️⃣ Church's Texas Chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My current favorite fried chicken! The line is super long, but totally worth it 💯! Check their website for coupons before going—we used two coupons and got 8 pieces of chicken, 2 sides, and 3 biscuits for only $15. One side was upgraded to jalapeño cheese bombers, what a steal~ 🍗 Make sure to eat it while it’s hot! The crust is crispy enough to crumble— the crispiest I’ve ever had! As a Southern fried chicken, it’s not salty at all, which is a huge plus~ Their biscuits are honey butter-flavored, sweet and different from others 😋. The jalapeño cheese bombers were a bit spicy for me, but equally crispy. Highly recommend overall—first choice for fried chicken lovers! #LifeInNorthAmerica#FoodExploration#FriedChicken#Savannah#Travel#Food
