Savannah Leopold’s Ice Cream Shop: Tutti Frutti 🥰
Savannah Leopold’s Ice Cream Shop: Tutti Frutti 🥰 No trip to Savannah is complete without a stop at Leopold’s, this century-old ice cream parlor! Leopold’s is a local legend, having been around for over 100 years. Just for the sake of “flavors aged with time,” it’s worth making a special trip~ And their Tutti Frutti flavor is such a hidden gem that it deserves a whole rave! 🥰 Tutti Frutti is definitely the unsung hero! This flavor is truly one-of-a-kind——a rich rum aroma bursts on your tongue, a gentle hint of intoxication without being overpowering. It’s mixed with bits of various fruits, and every bite surprises you with sweet-tart fruit pieces, creating amazing layers of flavor~ There is a touch of sweetness, but it’s much more restrained than other flavors in the shop, never cloying. Instead, it makes the rum and fruit flavors blend more harmoniously, leaving a faint, lingering fragrance in your mouth long after you finish. 🌟 The portions are really generous! A single scoop is piled high like a little mountain, with no skimping on ingredients~ If you just want a taste, highly recommend sharing with a friend or going for the kid size (like the one in Figure 6). It’s cute and small, perfect for a quick treat, and leaves room in your stomach to try other flavors~ Otherwise, finishing a whole scoop alone might leave you feeling “brain-frozen” from the cold 😂! ❌ Word of warning: Be cautious with the standalone Rum Raisin! I thought it would be similar to Tutti Frutti, but they’re totally different~ This one is sweet enough to rival sugar water, while the rum flavor is so faint it’s almost watered down. It’s just cloyingly sweet from the raisins, and compared to Tutti Frutti, it’s a letdown. Don’t make the mistake of picking this one! 👀 My friend ordered the Peanut Butter flavor, which is also quite distinctive~ The peanut butter taste is so intense it’s like eating a spoonful of straight peanut butter, super aromatic, but it’s also on the sweet side. If you’re a die-hard sweet lover, you might adore it, but I could only manage a small bite to avoid feeling ~ 🆒 The shop itself is a nice space too! It’s spacious and bright, with vintage tables, chairs, and old photos decorating the walls, oozing a nostalgic vibe~ We went on a weekday afternoon and got lucky—hardly any line at all. After ordering, we could sit down and savor our ice cream slowly, watching the street scene outside. Pure relaxation! 🏠 Fun fact: There’s a branch at Savannah Airport too! If you’re craving more before you leave, you can grab a scoop on your way to the gate—it’s super convenient~ There are at least two locations in total, so a quick search will lead you right there, no need to worry about missing out~ In short, the Tutti Frutti at this century-old shop is absolutely worth a special visit! The rich yet not cloying rum and fruit flavors, paired with the retro ambiance, make it more than just ice cream—it’s a taste of Savannah’s laid-back charm. Don’t miss it when you’re in town! #Savannah#Food#AugustTravel
