Savannah Travel Diary | Popular Spots Review: Saving You from Disappointments ⚠️ My overall experience in Savannah this time was just so-so, especially when it comes to food—it fell far short of my expectations. I’m sharing this to help you avoid letdowns! Vic's On the River 📍 26 E Bay St, Savannah, GA 31401 Recommendation Rating: 🌟🌟🌟✨ This lunch was the most satisfying meal of the trip! We chose this Southern-style restaurant by the river. For appetizers, we had fried green tomatoes; for mains, pecan fried flounder and blackened shrimp pasta. None of the dishes were mind-blowing, but they were all solid and up to standard. The fried fish and fried green tomatoes are definitely worth a try 👌🏻. 💰 Average cost per person (including tip): $30-40 Common Restaurant 📍 118 E Broughton St, Savannah, GA 31401 Recommendation Rating: 🌟🌟🌟 We made a reservation at this seafood restaurant for dinner, but honestly? I’m not sure if we just ordered the wrong dishes. The highly recommended short rib was greasy and cloying, the mussels were tiny and tasted off. The daily oysters cost around $4 each—pretty overpriced for what you get. 💰 Average cost per person (including tip): Around $50 Collins Quarter at Forsyth 📍 621 Drayton St, Savannah, GA 31401 Recommendation Rating: 🌟🌟✨ This is supposed to be the most popular brunch spot in town, but the service was terrible. We waited ages for our server to come over, and it felt like we were totally ignored the whole time. Both main dishes were just average—portions were small, and the value for money was even worse than brunch spots in Atlanta… 💰 Average cost per person (including tip): $20-30 Leopold's Ice Cream 📍 212 E Broughton St, Savannah, GA 31401 Recommendation Rating: 🌟🌟✨ This is a long-standing “Internet-famous” ice cream parlor, and everyone says it’s a must-visit. But I’d say: you’ll regret not going, but you’ll regret it even more if you do. Our wait wasn’t too long—only about 10 minutes—but I heard during peak hours, the line can be half an hour. We got two scoops (tutti frutti and pistachio) for $6.5. It was way too sweet for my taste—I couldn’t even finish it. ‼️ Overall, as a tourist destination, Savannah was a letdown when it came to food quality and service. Don’t go with too high expectations. If you just go to stroll around, wander through small shops, it’s a pretty pleasant place. But don’t get your hopes up for amazing meals! #Savannah#AtlantaDayTrips#AtlantaWeekends#RestaurantHopping#FollowErShuiYuanYuYueToEat
