Seafood in New Orleans French Quarter: A 4-Star Recommendation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐

My first day in New Orleans, and I already started missing Atlanta a bit—there’s just not that many Asian food options here! 😅 But hey, the seafood scene is strong, and Southern cuisine tends to be rich in sauces and gravies—which is great if you're into bold, savory flavors. Though, I’m not sure I could eat like this every single day! 🍛 We visited a spot that’s known as the “ultimate oyster destination” downtown. It was packed with people, and parking was a real challenge 🚗💨. We ended up ordering two dozen oysters and a pasta dish as our main. The first flavor we tried was the Charbroiled Oyster—grilled to perfection with a garlic-butter finish, and served with garlic bread. So. Dang. Good. 🧄🔥 I was a little worried we ordered too much at first, but after the first few, I honestly wished we had more! The second flavor was the Creole Oyster—creamy, a little mayo-y, with a hint of sweetness and tang. Really flavorful at first, though after a few, it got slightly heavy. But the oysters themselves were super fresh. Usually, rich sauces like that can hide lower quality, but not here—these were legit. 🦪✨ The pasta was decent—nothing mind-blowing, but solid. We ordered it thinking we might still be hungry, but the portions were actually pretty generous. A bit on the rich side though, so we couldn’t finish it all. Oh, and about that garlic bread—they give you three pieces with each order. It was so tasty we asked for more… only to find out later it was $5 per extra plate. 😬 Would’ve been nice to know upfront! When you walk in, they ask if you want to sit at the bar or a table. We chose a table, but if you’re in a small group, go for the bar! You can watch the shuckers grill the oysters right in front of you—way more fun. 👨🍳👀 Heads up—the check suggested a tip starting at 18%... and it’s calculated after tax. 🙃 Overall, a good experience. Worth trying if you’ve never been, but if you’ve had similar seafood elsewhere, maybe not a must-visit. NOLA is overflowing with oyster bars, after all! Restaurant: Gallier's Seafood & Oyster Bar What we ordered: Charbroiled Oysters, Creole Oysters, Pasta Total spent: $105.21 Parking: Tough street parking—paid spots only and not easy to find! #NewOrleans #SeafoodLover #OysterBar #FrenchQuarterEats #FoodReview #TravelEats #SouthernFood #NOLAdining #EatLikeALocal
