Shirakawa-go(2)
Trip Planning ๐โโ๏ธ: Shirakawa-go is not very large; you can explore it all in just 3 hours. โ ๏ธ Tip: It's best to arrive in Shirakawa-go early in the morning. There are fewer people, making it easier to take photos, and it's not as hot. ๐ฟ๐Buses usually start running around 8 a.m. You can leave after spending the afternoon there. Detailed Itinerary: 1๏ธโฃ Arrive at the Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal and get a Chinese map. 2๏ธโฃ Walk or take a shuttle bus to the Tenshukaku Observation Deck. 3๏ธโฃ Visit the villagers' houses, including the Mayor's House, the Doctor's House (Nagase Family), and the Kanda Family. They are quite similar; the Mayor's House is the largest, so visiting it should be enough. It features displays of farming tools and other items. ๐ฟ๐ You can also take a photo like the one in Figure 5 from the third-floor window. 4๏ธโฃ Myosen-ji Temple: A Gassho-zukuri temple with many records of the roof construction and displays of local life scenes. 5๏ธโฃ Shirakawa Hachiman Shrine: An old-fashioned shrine that is a must-visit for Hinamizawa pilgrimage. ๐ฟ๐ Some nearby shops sell anime-themed ema (votive tablets) where you can write your wishes. 6๏ธโฃ Aiai Bridge: This place seems to be less known, but I stumbled upon it and found it quite beautiful. It's a long suspension bridge that offers a great view of the clear river and mountains. 7๏ธโฃ After visiting all the spots, you can head back to the bus station while browsing the shops along the way. ๐ฟ๐ It's a good idea to buy some souvenirs. #Shirakawa-go #Gassho Village #Summer ๐ฟ๐
