Short Trip to NC | Charleston Food Diary 🍽️
New parents here — bravely traveled to Charleston + Savannah with our 3-month-old! 🚗💨 Drove 4.5 hours from NC and hit all the bookmarked food spots. Here’s the tea: Day 1: Lunch: Lewis BBQ 🍖 Just okay — traditional, a bit salty. Ribs were decent. Afternoon: Babas on Cannon ☕️ Peanut butter mocha + a chocolate profiterole — delicious! Chill street seating. 😌 Afternoon: La Pâtisserie 🍰 Pretty but too sweet — three desserts tasted the same. Vibes > flavor. Dinner: Husk ❌ The reason I’m writing this review! BIG letdown. Ribs: Acceptable Shrimp: So greasy it made me nauseous 🤢 Chicken: Boring Dessert: A sad pie with sad ice cream 🥧 How is this fine dining? 😭 Day 2: Brunch: Iron Rose 🥚 Gorgeous ambiance but terrible service — only 2 servers for the whole place! Food saved the day: Benedict eggs + tres leches cake were yummy. 🍳🎂 Snack: Callie’s Biscuit (City Market) 🥯 Meh — not worth a special trip. #CharlestonEats #NewParentsTravel #FoodFail #SouthernFood #TravelWithBaby 👶🍤
