Sighnaghi Low-Cost Pretentiousness GuidešŸ·

After crossing the border from Sheki, a small town in Azerbaijan, the first stop in Georgia is the town of Sighnaghi. Personally, I found it more comfortable than Sheki, so I ended up staying here for a few extra days. I really love the cool climate here—Sighnaghi is built on a small hilltop, so even in summer, it’s pleasantly cool. šŸ“ St. Nino Monastery About three kilometers from the town, you can either hike or take a round-trip taxi from the town. No entrance fee is required. I think this is the most beautiful spot in Sighnaghi! There are very few tourists. I spent two to three hours here taking loads of photos and soaking in the atmosphere. I even saw local couples taking their wedding photos here—absolutely stunningšŸ˜. šŸ“ A Winery on the Hillside of the Town I forgot the name of the winery... It’s roughly in the area of the town’s main attraction, the Sighnaghi Viewpoint. Keep walking uphill because only from higher ground can you see the church spire. A tasting set of five small glasses of wine costs around 50 GEL. You can split it with friendsšŸ˜‰ and pretend to be wine connoisseurs. I’m no wine expert, but it’s perfect for taking a few pretentious photos. šŸ“ Classic Red Wine Ice Cream Make sure to buy from the first shop, Cafe Medea! It closes early in the afternoon, so if you go late, you’ll have to settle for the second shop, which is also a bit more expensive than Medea’s🄲. These two shops are right next to each other. I’ve tried both, and Cafe Medea’s ice cream is tastier... I even chatted with Medea, the owner of Cafe Medea. She said red wine ice cream was her idea and that others copied her. šŸ“ Sighnaghi Viewpoint This is the classic photo spot. The town is quite small, so it’s easy to get great shots when there aren’t many people around. Even if there are pedestrians, there’s no need to rush—the town is never too crowded. šŸ“ Sighnaghi Wall This is the "Great Wall of Georgia." Walk all the way to the end, and on the lower left side, you’ll find two chairs. No one ever sits there, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a drink alone while watching the sunset😁. #Sighnaghi #Georgia #AsiaEuropeAfricaLoop #RedWine #Church #RedWineIceCream
