Singapore πΈπ¬ | River Safari ππΌ
β They say River Safari is small and there's not much to see. But I knew exactly what I wanted to see: our giant pandas, Kai Kai and Jia Jia, and the river otter performance. β I booked the river otter show tickets at 2:30 PM on the official website, and I came over from the next-door zoo at 3 PM, ready to take my time and explore. πποΈ Even if it rains here, you can still enjoy the visit as there are indoor walkways. π§οΈβ‘οΈπ πΌ Our giant pandas, Le Le's parents: Kai Kai and Jia Jia, have a great living environment here with dedicated air conditioning, and it's quiet without any noise, allowing us to watch them peacefully. π§π β Walking from the entrance to the river otter performance area takes no more than 30 minutes, which is half of River Safari. It's indeed small, but along the way, you can see various marine and river animals. πΆββοΈπΆββοΈπ π¦ π Although the show was scheduled for 4:30 PM, it's best to arrive early. We got in at 4 PM and sat in the first two rows; if you come late, you'll have to sit at the back. The is entirely in English, with many small animals brought out for a show. The star, the river otter, doesn't make a long appearance, but it's quite adorable, and watching it swim in the pool is hilarious. Finally, I saw a live river otter for the first time! π𦦠After the performance, you can take a photo with the river otter up front, and then line up next to it for a photo with the pelican. Don't rush off after the show. πΈπ¦© βΌοΈ Show times are at 11:30 AM, 2:30 PM, and 4:30 PM. Booking opens 2 hours in advance. β The entrance to the river rapids ride is right next to the performance area. I didn't buy tickets in advance. Because it rained heavily in the morning, I was afraid it would rain in the afternoon and the ride would be closed. Plus, if you buy the rapids tickets and can't ride due to weather, they won't be refunded! βΌοΈ (But I heard that even though they're not refunded, they can be used as cash vouchers in the shopping center.) π³ποΈ πΊ There are two self-service machines to buy tickets. The staff doesn't speak Chinese, but if you tell them how many tickets you want, they will help you operate, and you can just pay with your Visa card at the end. βΆοΈ The rapids ride has 4 rows, with two people per row. But the first row is usually not occupied as it gets wet. However, we were well-prepared with raincoats and sat in the first row. Only when the boat goes down does it splash water; the rest are calm areas where you can look at the animals on both sides. π£ββοΈππ βΌοΈβΌοΈ You can ride the rapids as many times as you want. When you get off, don't go straight out; there's a re-ride sign on the right, and you can turn back and get in line to ride the boat again. The rapids stop admitting entries at 6 PM. ππ« πΊ We rode it twiceο½This rapids ride is not scary at all, nor dangerous, it's just floating in the water watching animals. β Then we strolled out leisurely, looked at the colorful poison dart frogs, many big fish we didn't recognize, and then the sea lions, and we were on our way outβ¦ πΈπ π¦ We were greeted by the setting sun and took the free return shuttle back. ππ #Singapore #SingaporeRiverSafari #Travelogue #SingaporeRiverSafariGuide #GiantPandasInSingaporeRiverSafari
