Slurping Turtle, Ann Arbor
Back in Ann Arbor and had to revisit this popular Japanese ramen spot 🐢🍜! This time, I tried the Duck Fat Fried Chicken Ramen and the Tantanmen. The DFFC ramen is definitely their classic for a reason – the broth is rich and flavorful (a tad salty though!), and the chicken fried in duck fat has such a unique, aromatic crispiness 🦆🍗✨. As for the tantanmen… it was just okay. The pork belly on top was way too fatty – I’d rather go next door to Lan City for better noodles 😅. Also gave their Halloween special a try – a soft-shell crab and fish roe bun shaped like a spider! 🕷️🎃 It was fun, festive, and honestly pretty tasty (but I might be biased because I love soft-shell crab 🦀❤️). Overall, Slurping Turtle is good… but definitely overpriced 💸. Feels like Ann Arbor’s food prices are catching up with major US cities these days… #100FoodTrips #UMich #MichiganFood #AnnArborEats #JapaneseRamen #JapaneseFood
