I based myself in Cannes for 8 days, taking daily trains to nearby towns—super convenient! But if I could redo it, I’d stay in Antibes (my favorite!) or Nice for better vibes. 📍 City Ratings & Tips 🎦 Cannes: 7/10 Skip if not for the film festival—overpriced with meh service. Stay: Pierre et Vacances Cannes Villa Francia (3km from center, sea views). €200/night during festivals, cheaper off-season. Eat: ✅ ASTOUX ET BRUN (€40): Oysters = 👍, grilled fish = 👎 ❌ Pitaya Thaï Street Food: Avoid! ⚠️ Yvan's (€40): Frogs’ legs = bland, duck liver steak = 🔥, soufflé = overpriced 💔 L'AFFABLE (Michelin): Booked but canceled due to city-wide blackout—someone try it for me! 🏔️ Antibes: 8/10 Hidden gem! Affordable, friendly, with stunning sea + mountain views. Must-do: Picasso Museum + coastal hike. Eat: ✅ La Pergola (€20): Grandpa-run spot—warmest service ever! ✅ LA PESCHERIA: €12 for 6 oysters (breakfast win!). Regret not trying sashimi! 🍋 Menton/Monaco: 5/10 Skip unless you love casinos/postcard pics. 🏝️ Nice: 8/10 Vibrant + turquoise waters! Old Town = perfect for wandering.
