Solo Senior Traveler Loves the Ambiance Here! 🌺

I booked a spontaneous 6-night trip to use up my airline credits before the end of 2024. Taking advantage of a "stay 5 nights, get 1 free" offer and using my Marriott Bonvoy points for two of those nights made it an excellent value. I initially booked the most affordable, no-view room but was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade at check-in. The staff member was very considerate, informing me that my original room was in a potentially loud street-facing area. Instead, I was assigned a quiet, older yet very comfortable room on the 5th floor—perfect for a peaceful stay 😴. Having previously stayed at another iconic Waikīkī beachfront original, the Moana Surfrider, I can say this property's grounds are truly outstanding. They are expansive and offer numerous serene spots to relax away from the crowds 🌴. The Mai Tai Bar is a fantastic spot and arguably serves the best version of the classic cocktail in the area! 🍹 My daily routine involved a refreshing swim in the ocean. I highly recommend renting one of the iconic pink beach umbrellas for the whole day in the roped-off section behind the hotel; it felt more private and exclusive 🏖️☂️. The staff throughout the hotel were consistently attentive and friendly. On-site amenities are plentiful, with a bakery, numerous shops, an ABC Store, and various dining options just a short walk from the main entrance 🥐🛍️. If you want to experience a touch of "Old Hawaiʻi," appreciate beautifully maintained grounds, and enjoy elegant decor at every turn, you should definitely experience this hotel. While there were some young children present, I wouldn't primarily describe it as a family-focused destination; the overall atmosphere is one of classic, refined tranquility. #SoloTravel #SeniorTraveler #ClassicHawaii #HistoricHotel #MaiTaiBar #WaikikiBeach #HotelGrounds #TravelGoals #Ambiance #QuietRetreat
