1. β›°Sabino Canyon The steep rock cliffs are covered with cacti all over the mountains. In the morning, I encountered many local people going for a morning run. Starting from 9 o'clock in the morning, there's a bus departing every hour to take tourists to the mountaintop. On the bus, there are explanations provided so that you can learn about the details of the canyon's formation, as well as the wildlife, history and culture in the mountains. I took the first bus. After staying at the mountaintop for a while, I started to head back at 9:38 am. The return journey was downhill and quite easy to walk. I could enjoy the scenery along the way at my own pace. It took me about two hours and I got back to the visitor center at 11:26. πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸšŒ It was a pleasant experience to explore the canyon in this way, getting to know more about its unique features while enjoying the beautiful natural views. πŸ˜ŽπŸŒ„πŸŒŸ 2. After that, I changed to stay at Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain. The two hotels are located at the eastern and western ends of the city respectively, and it took only 45 minutes by Uber. Tucson is quite famous for its spas. There are many spa resorts. After a two-hour hike, having a spa treatment really made me feel refreshed. The spa in Ritz is also renowned in the city. It's not crowded and quiet. There are private pools in the spa for guests to relax and soak up the sun. The therapists there are quick to accept feedback. If I could stay for two more days, I would definitely make another reservation. πŸ˜ƒπŸ’†β€β™€οΈπŸ¨ It's a wonderful place to unwind and rejuvenate oneself during the trip. πŸ˜ŠπŸŒžπŸ’ 3. In the evening, I participated in the Night hike tour at Ritz. Since it wasn't the peak tourist season, I paid a little over a hundred dollars but got a personalized tour. The hotel is located at Dove Mountain. It was like having a night hike in the canyon right at the backyard. The only light source was the headlamp on my head. I was immersed in the pitch-dark night while walking in the desert. There was a mixture of excitement and a bit of fear. With the curiosity of exploring the unknown, I moved forward step by step. When we reached the deeper part of the canyon where it was desolate, the guide turned off the headlamp. Looking up, I saw the sky full of stars. At that moment, I was truly touched from the bottom of my heart and couldn't help thinking "I wish you were here". πŸ˜ŽπŸŒŸπŸ”¦ It was an unforgettable and magical moment during my trip. πŸ˜ŠπŸŒŒπŸ’– 1. 🏞Saguaro National Park West The western part of the park isn't overly developed. There are many hiking trails. However, it's rather inconvenient to get around in the national park without driving. So I booked a customized hiking tour at Arizona climbing guides. The price for half a day was $245. The guide would tailor the route according to my requirements and hiking experience. There was also a pick-up and drop-off service. And they prepared a backpack for me, which had water, snacks and hiking poles in it. I chose the Hugh Norris route. It took three hours for a round trip. The guide was very helpful and took pictures for me on his own initiative. After the hike, I was sweating a lot but also felt much more relaxed. Then I changed to stay at JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort&Spa. The facilities in the hotel were rather old and the scenery was just so-so. The price was too high and it really wasn't cost-effective at all. πŸ˜ƒπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸ“· It was a bit disappointing compared to my expectations. πŸ˜ŠπŸ¨πŸ’° 2. πŸ¦…Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum In the afternoon, I went to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Compared to traditional zoos, it's more like a combination of a natural history museum and a botanical garden. It was quite interesting to see various animals and plants living under the desert vegetation. There was a hummingbird pavilion in the park. When entering it, the colorful hummingbirds were sometimes hovering in the air and sometimes flying around me. It was a really special kind of interaction. 😎🦜🌸 It offered a unique perspective to observe and understand the desert ecosystem. 😊🌡🌟 #SoloTravelUS #NoDriving
