Solo Trip|A Fantastical Journey in New Orleans 🐊🍷🎷

Forget New Orleans “wings”—this city is all about grit, voodoo, and art 🧙‍♀️ 📍 French Quarter As a former French colony, the French Quarter retains a rich 19th-century French vibe and stands as the heart of New Orleans. Musicians playing jazz fill the air around every corner 🎶 Day 1 🦪🦞 Dinner: Drago's Seafood Restaurant (located downstairs from the Hilton Hotel, a 20-minute walk from Jackson Square) Lobster Marco: The lobster meat is plump, tender, and generous in portion—hands down the best lobster I’ve had‼️ $47 Char-grilled oysters: Too salty, not recommended. Cocktails: Smooth and easy to drink 🍹 Day 2 🥣 Breakfast: Cafe Beignet Tried their French beignets—they taste like fried steamed buns dipped in sugar 🍩 🌟 Day Tour: Oak Alley Plantation & Swamp Exploration The tour met near the French Quarter, which was super convenient. In the swamp, we spotted wild boars, alligators, and raccoons) 🐗🦝. The boatman explained the animals’ habits and let us touch a baby alligator—its skin was surprisingly soft, and I was worried it might slip out of my hands at any second 🥹 🥣 Dinner: Thaihey NOLA (Thai-style seafood spot 🌟) Thai Iced Tea: Not too sweet, just right for my milk tea craving. $6 Fried frog legs: Skip these—they were overcooked and small in portion. $14 Crispy Shrimp🦐: A must-order❗️ Each piece has a whole tender shrimp inside. $14 Main dish: Fried eggplant with a dramatic presentation. It’s a bit oily, but pairing it with rice balanced that out. There’s also a whole shrimp inside each eggplant piece. Overall, 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⚠️ Note: Thaihey charges tips twice‼️ An 18% gratuity was automatically added to my bill, and then they asked for an additional tip. Day 3 🌅 Woke up at 5 AM for an early flight, but first stopped by the Mississippi River to watch the sunrise. I chatted with a stranger humming jazz by the road—they even invited me for a coffee. 🥣 Breakfast : Ruby Slipper Cafe (incredible brunch 👠) I was among the first customers, so no wait. The restaurant filled up quickly soon after—book in advance if you can! Eggs Cochon Benedict: Rich and flavorful. $16 French Truck Iced Coffee: Not bitter or sweet. $5.6—it was so icy I was still sipping it when I got to the airport 🥸 #NewOrleans #NewOrleansTravel #USATravel #OakAlleyPlantation #CulturalAttractions #SoloTrip #Louisiana
