South Africa Travel: The Garden Route to Knysna

Knysna: A Garden Route Holiday Town ✈️ Travel from Johannesburg to Knysna Fly from Johannesburg to George Airport. Rent a car at the airport and drive to Knysna (approximately 60 kilometers). 🏠 Accommodation Booked a guesthouse on Leisure Island. South African guesthouses are quite nice overall. 🌼 Eating Out Breakfast at the hotel. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Here are a few recommendations: 34South: Located at Knysna Waterfront (there are many restaurant options here). Freshline Fisheries: At the entrance of Thesen Island (Thesen Island also has several good restaurants. We enjoyed drinks and snacks at a place called Sirocco. It's small and easy to find). 🛍️ Sightseeing The Heads Views: Highly recommended (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐). Brenton-on-Sea: Perfect for those who love beaches and the sea. We enjoyed barefoot walks, playing, and taking photos on the beach. The town has many small shops and cafes. There's a nice antique shop on Leisure Island. The nearby town of Sedgefield has a weekend market. 💃 What to Wear South Africa's winter isn't very cold, but there's a big temperature difference between day and night. You might need a sweater or jacket in the morning, but by noon, you can wear a short skirt or bikini. 🚗 Transportation No public transportation found. Renting a car is highly recommended. Knysna is perfect for a leisurely holiday. I love sitting by the dock, eating ice cream, and watching the boats go by and people walk past. It's a great way to enjoy the slow pace of life. #SouthAfricaTravel
