South Carolina | Charleston
A charming, artsy, and historic city perfect for strolling, sipping coffee, and taking photos ☕📸. We only stayed one night but wished we had more time! June weather was unpredictable — one moment sunny, the next a downpour 🌦️. We visited on a Monday expecting fewer people, but it happened to be garbage collection day 🚛. 📍Must-Visit Spots: King Street & Queen Street: Bustling commercial area with great shops and restaurants 🛍️🍽️. The architecture is photogenic, but it can get crowded with traffic. Church Street: So many churches here — honestly, we were a bit “churched-out” and didn’t even take photos ⛪. The Battery: A lovely seaside park with beautiful trees draped in Spanish moss 🌊🌳. Perfect for a walk along E Battery St with gorgeous historic homes. Rainbow Row: Iconic row of colorful houses — must visit when it’s sunny for the best photos! 🌈 Pineapple Fountain & Joe Riley Waterfront Park: Another lovely waterfront spot with a cute pineapple fountain 🍍. Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon: You can buy tickets to tour inside 🎫. 👉 The last three attractions are within walking distance! Fort Sumter: We skipped this, but history buffs might enjoy it — check the official website for ferry info ⛴️. Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens: Filming location of The Notebook — looks beautiful, but we didn’t have time to go 🎬💔. Magnolia Plantation and Gardens: Also missed this one — next time! 🌸 🍽️ Food Reviews: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar: We tried the Seafood Tower — not super fresh 😕 Maybe because we went late? La Pâtisserie: The desserts looked beautiful but tasted underwhelming… and a bit too sweet for me 🍰. #SouthCarolina #CharlestonSC #TravelUSA #HistoricDowntown #SouthernCharm #Wanderlust #PlantationCountry
