South Philadelphia's Super Delicious Bakery Recommendation
Open Wednesday to Sunday, 9AM to 2PM. Today, I sat there for two hours, and the line was always out the door. I tried four pastries, two sweet and two savory, and they were all very delicious. They don't sell coffee but offer ice cream. The coffee shop next door has joint seating with them, so you can buy ice cream to enjoy with your coffee. š Lemon Tart: Meringue + lemon custard + tart shell. The meringue is not too sweet, mainly relying on the lemon sauce and the tart shell to balance the sweetness and tanginess, which is very tasty. š³ Jammy Egg: Highly recommended! As a lover of baked eggs, I naturally couldn't miss this. When I ordered it, it had just come out of the oven, and it was still warm when I ate it. The pastry crust was sprinkled with spices that added a savory flavor, which combined with the runny egg yolk to create a particularly delightful aroma. š Strawberry + Pistachio Tart: Fresh strawberries + custard + pistachio tart shell; I originally thought the pistachios would be mixed into the custard, but they were crushed and placed at the bottom of the tart, retaining their grainy texture and fragrance. The strawberries were freshly placed on top, without any fruit gel, very fresh, and a great match with the custard. š§ Caramelized Onion Danish: I didn't plan to order this, but when I went to place my second order, I was attracted by its appearance and decided to buy it. The pastry is salty, the onions are sweet, creating a built-in sweet and savory combination. The only downside I found was that because the onions are a bit wet, they slightly affected the texture of the pastry beneath them. In terms of taste, it's still very delicious. #Philadelphia #PhiladelphiaLife #PhiladelphiaFood #LocalCafe #Coffee #DailyCoffee #CoffeeShop #Bakery
