Spent Thanksgiving in New Orleans This Year! ๐ฆ๐ท
๐น French Quarter, Jackson Square โ The French Quarter is filled with bars and jazz music ๐ถ, fleur-de-lis symbols โ๏ธ everywhere, and beautiful French-style balconies adorning the buildings, each telling a story of the cityโs rich history. If Las Vegas is about glamorous indulgence, the French Quarter here feels like poetic, soulful decadence. Itโs said that during Hurricane Katrina, most of the city was flooded, but the French Quarter miraculously survived ๐. ๐ Faulkner House Books โ The former home of William Faulkner, where he wrote his first novel, Soldiers' Pay, in 1925 โ๏ธ. ๐น Sazerac House โ A cocktail museum dedicated to the Sazerac, one of Americaโs oldest cocktails ๐ฅ. Made primarily with whiskey, itโs strong enough to knock your socks off in one sip! ๐ณ Oak Alley Plantation โ A stunning oak-lined estate used as a filming location for Gone with the Wind ๐ฌ. ๐ฅฏ Beignets โ A local must-try! These fried pastries covered in powdered sugar are high in calories but totally delicious ๐. Perfect with a Cafรฉ Au Lait. Day 3 & 4 ๐๏ธ The National WWII Museum โ Absolutely worth half a day here. It presents the war from multiple perspectives โ a deeply moving and well-curated experience. ๐ข Riverwalk โ A relaxing stroll along the Mississippi River ๐. ๐ฟ City Park โ Drank coffee and soaked up the sun โ๏ธ. A massive oak tree became a natural playground for the kids. ๐ฏโโ๏ธ Thanksgiving Parade โ Caught a local parade featuring performances by school bands ๐ฅ๐บ. The only regret was that we couldnโt enjoy the jazz bars at night because of the little one ๐ต๐ธโฆ but thereโs always next time! #NewOrleans #NOLATravel #TravelDiaries #Wanderlust #TravelHighlights #USATravel #CityMemories #LifeIsForLiving
