Spiral Jetty – A Unique Salt Lake Experience 🌊✨
Since we only had half a day left in Salt Lake City, my friends and I did some research online the night before. We were looking for a spot where we could either walk close to the salt lake or drive right up to its edge. Eventually, we decided on Spiral Jetty, which is about a 2-hour drive from SLC. Most of the drive was smooth, but once we entered Golden Spike National Historical Park, the road turned into a gravel path. We couldn’t go faster than 30 mph, and if there was a car ahead, the dust made it impossible to see the road. Drive carefully—an SUV is highly recommended! 🚗💨 You’ll know you’ve arrived when you see a cluster of parked cars. There’s no formal parking lot—everyone just parks along the hillside. From there, it’s time to venture out into the salt lake! Since we expected to encounter water, we wore sandals just in case. One downside: the sand sticks to your shoes, making each step heavier—so you’ll need to shake it off periodically. 🩴🏜️ After walking for about 10-20 minutes toward the center, you’ll reach the lake. The water is very shallow at first, perfect for worry-free photos. As you go further, the water takes on a beautiful pink hue—so stunning! 💖📸 The last photo was taken during my flight to Seattle—we happened to fly right over the same lake we visited! ✈️🌅 Stay tuned for more Utah travel plogs coming soon! 🥾📖 #SaltLakeCity #SpiralJetty #UtahTravel #UniqueLandscapes #RoadTripAdventures #PinkLake #NaturePhotography #ExploreUtah #OffTheBeatenPath #TravelDiaries
