Spring Break City Diary Day 5: Indianapolis 🌆

After rushing back from Miami to my college town, I crashed hard 😴—but woke up early the next day to join a school trip organized by ISSA to visit Indiana’s state capital: Indianapolis. 🏛️ Toured the Indiana State House – the guide told us that when it was completed in the late 19th century, it already had elevators and AC! Quietly impressed ⚔️ Visited the Soldiers & Sailors Monument in downtown – grand and historic. 🎭 Was about to go to the State Museum, but got scared off by the ticket price … so took a chill walk along the canal instead. Elderly folks strolling by kept saying “Go Irish!” when they saw my ND shirt – my school’s rep is real lol 🥗 Had some middle-class white people food at Whole Foods (and yep, got hungry again not long after ) 🛒 Stopped by Saraga International Market before heading back – was hyped to find a Tianjin snack stall run by fellow Chinese! Originally wanted a jianbing, but then spotted Sichuan beef noodles on the menu 🍜✨ They were so delicious I didn’t even have time to take a proper pic (also lowkey scared I’d miss the bus 🚌) Though I kept sighing (and lowkey complaining) throughout the day about how quiet and almost deserted the state capital felt, you could still sense traces of its past prosperity. 🌸 Spring break series—officially concluded! 🎉 Living in the rural Midwest, I got to see a different side of America 🇺🇸. History I’d only read in books came alive during this trip. Now time to head back and battle with my thesis 📚… already looking forward to the next adventure! #StudyInTheUS #Indianapolis #TravelDiary
