Sri Lanka | Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo

🛕Gangaramaya Temple ✨This is one of the most important temples in Colombo, blending modern architecture with cultural essence. The architecture incorporates styles from Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, China, and the UK. Located by Beira Lake, it was completed in the late 19th century. ✨ Its main features include the Vihara (temple), Cetiya (stupa), Bodhi tree, Seema Malaka (assembly hall for monks), and relic chamber. 🌈In addition, there are a museum, library, residential hall, educational hall, and alms hall. It can be seen that the main building imitates the pagoda style of Bodh Gaya in India, and the rows of Buddha statues in front of the pagoda are very eye-catching and spectacular. 🌿The Buddhist museum houses collections from various countries and regions, and it is hard to distinguish their authenticity. The museum is quite large, and it takes about half an hour to explore slowly. 🥰This temple is very beautiful, and it has collected antiques ranging from old watches to pottery, gems, Rolls-Royce cars, statues, ivory products, and so on. There are too many examples to list. Overall, it feels more like a cultural center or a tourist attraction, suitable for those who are not very familiar with Buddhist culture. Practical Information 📍Address: 61 Sri Jinarathana Rd, Colombo 00200, Sri Lanka 🎫Admission: 400 rupees. Shoes need to be placed in the racks at the entrance, and no extra payment is required. #SriLanka #Temples#Colombo
