There are actually many local restaurants in Colombo that look quite good, but I didn't get the chance to try them. 🍊 For breakfast, I just grabbed a quick bread before heading to my class venue, where lunch and afternoon tea were provided. So I only got to have two proper dinners 😂🌶 🍴 Culture Colombo🍑 - An authentic Sri Lankan restaurant with mid-range prices.🍊 Three of us ate a total of 8,000 LKR (~MYR110) and were extremely full. Since most dishes are carb-based like roti, we were really stuffed.🍒 - We ordered the Tasting Basket (Rs.5550), which included various main dishes and sides: curries, koththu, egg hoppers, etc. (for 3-4 people). 🍋 It covered all the local delicacies worth trying.🍐 - The portions were very generous. I thought the curry, sambol (similar to our sambal), hoppers, and roti were all quite delicious.🍎 - We really didn't know much about Sri Lankan food. Luckily, the waiter was very nice and taught us how to eat and pair the dishes 😂 But actually, you can mix and match however you like.🍊 🍴 Ministry of Crab🍐 - A famous Sri Lankan crab restaurant that we booked in advance 🦀 (though walking in should also work).🍊 🍎- The waiter first asked about our spice tolerance and recommended the 1.3kg Pepper Crab ($170). We also ordered Clams ($10), Kade bread ($2), and garlic rice ($5).🍊 - The crab was indeed deliciously cooked 😋 It was large, so the meat was fresh and sweet, but it was really expensive 😂 After eating, my dad said he'd never had a crab that cost 900 ringgit before. Satisfied taste buds, but an empty wallet 💸 - I'm sure there are more affordable Sri Lankan crab dishes elsewhere 😂 We just didn't have enough time to explore further, so we came here to check it out . #SriLanka#Colombo
