Sri lanka park recommendation--Udawalawe National Park

📍 Park Overview Udawalawe National Park is located in the south of Sri Lanka, 180 kilometers away from Colombo, and covers an area of over 30,000 square kilometers. 🌈The park, established in 1972, is one of the most famous national parks in southern Sri Lanka. Compared to Yala, Udawalawe is larger, more pristine, and wilder. 📍 Opening Hours: 6:00 to 18:00 📍 Recommended Season for Visiting: From May to December each year. 📍 Park Highlights ①: Elephants 🐘 ✨Udawalawe is renowned for its large population of wild elephants, with approximately 500 elephants divided into over 50 herds. You can get up close to these gentle giants. There is also an elephant gathering point within the park where you can witness baby elephants lining up to drink milk 🍼 from the jungle at set times. 🌈They are fed by four times a day, and after drinking milk, they line up again to return to the jungle, which is incredibly adorable ❤. 📍 Park Highlights ②: Birds 🐦 ✨In addition to elephants, another notable feature of Udawalawe is the rich variety of birdlife, with 183 species of birds residing locally and many migratory birds, making it an ideal spot for birdwatching. 🌈There is a main road leading into the park, and the small wetland area beside it is particularly suitable for birdwatching. ⚠️ A Few Tips ✔️ The best time to observe elephant herds is from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM and from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. ✔️ Safaris should be done early in the morning when animals are generally more active and many come out to feed. ✔️ A gentle reminder to wear sunscreen; the roads can be dusty, so it's advisable to bring a mask or similar protection. ✔️ Please be mindful of your behavior, do not litter or smoke in the park to provide a better living environment for the animals. #SriLanka #SriLankaTravel #SriLankaTourism #SriLankaTravelGuide#Udawalawe National Park#Birds#elephant#tripdiary# travel guide#Udawalawe
