Sri Lanka is a country that offers a perfect blend of sea, wildlife safaris in national parks, one of the world's seven wonders, and numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites, making it an ideal destination for independent travel. An 4-day, 3-night itinerary without any disappointments is achievable, with the best mode of transportation being a private car rental. Key Must-Visit Spots: 🩵Kandalama Heritage Hotel 🩵Sigiriya Lion Rock 🩵Yala National Park/Safari 🩵Galle 🩵Heritage Series Hotel Check-ins : The itinerary, includes an additional night at Kandalama Heritage and one night at Yala Hilton. Day 1: 🐿️ Upon landing, check into the Negombo Heritage Hotel , which is conveniently close to the airport with a beautiful lobby and breakfast restaurant. Day 2: 🌲 After breakfast, head to Kandalama Heritage. The Negombo Fish Market is not worth the early wake-up and can be skipped. The St. Mary's Church is quite beautiful; a 10-minute stop for photos is sufficient. The Elephant Orphanage 🐘 is optional. Arrive early at Kandalama Heritage to enjoy the experience (Figure 5). Day 3: 🦁 Enjoy a lazy morning and breakfast at the hotel, then head out at 3:30 PM to Sigiriya Lion Rock to watch the sunset 🌇. For those with energy, watching the sunrise is an option. The view at non-sunset times is shown in the bottom right corner of Figure 6, which is not recommended. Day 4: 🌴 Depart for Kandy in the morning (Figure 7), visiting the Royal Botanical Garden, Temple of the Tooth, Kandy Lake, and a viewpoint in sequence. Stay at the Earl's Regent Hotel .
