Sri lanka travel about Mirissa
Mirissa, a renowned vacation spot in southern Sri Lanka, is surrounded by the natural settlements of numerous beaches, and it is no different. We arrived in Mirissa at 6 PM, so how should we explore Mirissa? 🩵Coconut Tree Hill A must-visit spot in Mirissa for a coconut grove sunset. We arrived here at 6 PM just in time for the sunset. It's recommended to come earlier to secure a good spot for photography; it's incredibly picturesque (p12). The nearby beach is beautiful, and the swings by the sea are also great for photos (p6-10). Whale Watching in Mirissa Sri Lanka is one of the best whale-watching destinations in the world, offering great value for money. Mirissa, located in the south of Sri Lanka, is said to have a 98% success rate in whale watching from November/December to March/April each year. 🎫 Ticket Price: $50 per adult, $35 per child. Duration: 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM, including breakfast and hotel transfer services. At 6:15 AM, we were picked up from our hotel, and the drive took about 15 minutes, passing by a bustling fish market where many boats were docked. ⚠️ Precautions: Whale-watching boats usually have two levels with seats on both the upper and lower decks on a first-come, first-served basis. The lower deck has restrooms. After boarding, you need to wear a life jacket and take motion sickness medication; staff will provide motion sickness pills to each passenger. ✨Stilt Fishermen The stilt fishermen became famous after appearing on the cover of the Lonely Planet Traveler in 2009. This unique and ancient fishing method is called "the world's most amazing fishing technique" and has become a must-see sight in southern Sri Lanka. It is said that in the past, fishermen who couldn't afford boats would erect poles in the shallow sea, sit on the poles with fishing rods without bait, and wait for fish to bite. From a distance, this scene looks like people walking on stilts, hence the name. # Mirissa#Mirissa Beach#Whale Watching #Stilt Fishermen#Sri lanka #trip diary#travel guide#Sri lanka trip
