St Peter’s Cathedral, Malmö – A Visit
⛪ Right beside the City Hall square stands St Peter’s Cathedral. 🔹 Its 105 m spire was begun in the 14th century. 🔹 Medieval wall-paintings on the roof—hidden for centuries—were rediscovered during early-20th-century restoration. 🔹 Inside, a 15 m-high wooden altarpiece is the largest of its kind in the Nordic countries. 💕The interior is pure Nordic minimalism: soaring vaults, coloured cupolas, brilliant white surfaces. From the solemn nave to the chandeliers, twin giant pipe organs, and candle-lined pillars with antique clocks, it feels like stepping into a wedding scene—completed in 1611 after four years of meticulous work.🌟 Did St Peter himself ever walk here? 💡 Between the stained-glass panes, a long green band—could it be a serpent? 🎈 The church’s “treasure-hunt” activity for visitors is genius: playful yet informative. 💡 The organs are stunning and now fully digital—electronic screens and all—so cool! 🎈 The sheer height is mind-blowing; centuries ago they built this sky-scratching “Jacob’s ladder.” Didn’t someone say heaven objects to towers that reach the sky? #StPetersCathedral#Malmö #Sweden #Europe
