St. John London – A Michelin-Starred Letdown? 😅
📍 Location: 26 St John St, London EC1M 4AY ⭐ Michelin Star: 1 (since 2009) Went to St. John with sky-high expectations after seeing endless rave reviews – but sadly, it turned out to be one of my most meh Michelin experiences in London! The Disappointing Bits: Endless Waiting ⏳: Seated at 2 PM, finished at 5 PM. Each course took 45+ mins to arrive – and we weren’t even dining at peak hours! "Rustic" = "Just Ugly"? Most dishes looked like they were plated in the dark (hence… no photos 📵). Overhyped: Aside from the Roast Guinea Fowl (juicy & fragrant) and desserts (legit delicious), everything else was forgettable. What Went Wrong? Maybe my fault for skipping breakfast and arriving too hungry 🍽️💢. Or maybe it’s just… not for everyone? (The "nose-to-tail" British cuisine can be polarizing.) Silver Linings ✨: Desserts Save the Day: Their Madeleines and Eccles Cake are worth the trip alone. Iconic Status: It’s a London institution (just temper expectations). Verdict: ❌ Not worth the hype (or the 3-hour meal). ✔️ Try if: You’re a hardcore Fergus Henderson fan or love very rustic British food. #MichelinStar #LondonEats #StJohnLondon #Overrated #FoodieFail
