St. John London β A Michelin-Starred Letdown? π
π Location: 26 St John St, London EC1M 4AY β Michelin Star: 1 (since 2009) Went to St. John with sky-high expectations after seeing endless rave reviews β but sadly, it turned out to be one of my most meh Michelin experiences in London! The Disappointing Bits: Endless Waiting β³: Seated at 2 PM, finished at 5 PM. Each course took 45+ mins to arrive β and we werenβt even dining at peak hours! "Rustic" = "Just Ugly"? Most dishes looked like they were plated in the dark (henceβ¦ no photos π΅). Overhyped: Aside from the Roast Guinea Fowl (juicy & fragrant) and desserts (legit delicious), everything else was forgettable. What Went Wrong? Maybe my fault for skipping breakfast and arriving too hungry π½οΈπ’. Or maybe itβs justβ¦ not for everyone? (The "nose-to-tail" British cuisine can be polarizing.) Silver Linings β¨: Desserts Save the Day: Their Madeleines and Eccles Cake are worth the trip alone. Iconic Status: Itβs a London institution (just temper expectations). Verdict: β Not worth the hype (or the 3-hour meal). βοΈ Try if: Youβre a hardcore Fergus Henderson fan or love very rustic British food. #MichelinStar #LondonEats #StJohnLondon #Overrated #FoodieFail
