I’ll be honest – after reading a number of mixed reviews on Tripadvisor, I wasn’t totally sure what to expect from the Wellington Lounge. But I’m so glad I went – because today’s afternoon tea was nothing short of EXCEPTIONAL! 🫖💫 As someone who has visited the InterContinental for afternoon tea several times – my first experience dating back over a decade – I can confidently say: things have improved beautifully! From the elegant variety of treats and the lovely champagne opening ceremony 🥂, to the delicious, creatively prepared bites and the perfect rosé Veuve Clicquot – every moment felt carefully thought out. The afternoon tea menu itself was a delight – a mix of classic and modern, all executed with skill and flair. It’s clear the Wellington Lounge pays serious attention to every detail, and I’ve enjoyed some wonderful afternoon teas over the years – this one stands out! 🎀🧁 A special mention to the staff – they were wonderful, and Caitlyn in particular was an absolute star ⭐️ – attentive, warm, and genuinely lovely. She really helped make the experience feel extra special. All in all, this was a truly delightful afternoon tea – refined yet relaxed, traditional but with a fresh touch.
