Sunset Tour at Acadia National Park, Maine

When the sun completely dipped below the mountain shadows at 19:44, men, women, children—both Chinese and foreign—around us all started clapping, led by an elderly couple nearby. We thanked the sun for shining diligently the whole day, thanked the Earth for spinning tirelessly the whole day, and felt grateful for another day of joy we’d enjoyed... It was such a ritualistic moment 😊 Tips: Be sure to buy tickets on the official website in advance—we only managed to get tickets for the 16:30 uphill trip. There are also several different trails to explore on the mountain (📸. We brought a picnic mat and small chairs too, but when we saw the grandpa pull out a huge cooler and two large recliners from his pickup truck, we couldn’t help but admire him—now that’s someone who truly knows how to savor life 👍. Thanks to vehicle restrictions, the viewing experience was great with no crowds. There’s a small gift shop and restrooms at the top of the mountain 🚻. The most important tip: There are two parking lots at the summit. At first, we passed the West Parking Lot without realizing it and parked at the larger, slightly higher-up lot—we thought we should watch the sunset from the very top. Later, we figured it out: the large parking lot is better for sunrise (it has a wider view of the east), while the West Parking Lot offers the best view for sunset 🌅. #BostonLife #BostonLiving #BostonArea #Maine #MaineTravel #AcadiaNationalPark #AcadiaNationalParkGuide #Acadia #AcadiaSunsetAtSummit
