Supposedly the Best Taco in All of Berlin 🌮

This taco place, which opened last year in the Mitte district at Markthalle Pfefferberg, caused quite a stir in the foodie community as soon as it opened. 🌟 I visited last summer and again last week, and I have to say, the tacos here are indeed better than any others I’ve had in Berlin—though to be fair, the general standard of Mexican food in Berlin leaves something to be desired. 😔 My American colleague, who used to be a seasoned food editor writing restaurant reviews, calls this the best taco in Berlin. 👍 The menu is pretty straightforward: beef, pork, chorizo (a type of pork sausage), a vegetarian option, and a mixed platter. 🍖 🐖 🌭 The key is the freshly made corn tortillas. Eat them right away, and they won’t get soggy. 🌽 There are also five or six different salsas and mayos to choose from, so salsa lovers can try a bit of each. 🌶️ The tortilla chips look homemade and are perfectly paired with the guacamole—unlike some places that skimp on the sauce, leaving you with a lot of leftover chips. 🥪 🥑 I recommend getting the mixed platter and sharing an order of tortilla chips with friends. 🥣 If I had to pick just one, I’d go with the classic taco al pastor (the kind with juicy, fatty pork that’s grilled like a kebab). 🍖 The vegan version with cactus gets a thumbs-up from my friend. 🌵 Wash it all down with a drink from one of the neighboring stalls in the market—it’s the perfect way to enjoy a summer evening, sitting by the roadside with a cool breeze. 🍻 (The first two photos are of the beef and pork tacos, and the third one is the mixed platter.) 📍 Address: Taquería El Oso (inside Markthalle Pfefferberg) Schönhauser Allee 176C, 10119 Berlin #BerlinExploration #BerlinCuisine #BerlinFoodie #BerlinDaily #BerlinDimSum #RedRiceNoodleRolls #BerlinGuide #LifeInGermany
