Suva π΄
Suva (SUVA) is the capital of Fiji, as well as the country's largest city and main port. ποΈ Located on the southeastern coast of Viti Levu, the largest island in the Fiji archipelago, Suva was established in 1880 and covers an area of approximately 20 square kilometers. About half of its residents are of Indian descent. π Surrounded by water on three sides and backed by mountains, the city center lies near the sea, where tall coconut trees, breadfruit trees, and mango trees line the streets, harmoniously complementing the low-rise tropical architecture and creating a picturesque scene. πΏποΈ The city boasts beautiful scenery and elegant architecture, with attractions such as the Suva Hindu Temple , Fiji Museum , Thurston Gardens , Taveuni Island , and Suva Harbour β. π¨ Accommodation: The Travelodge Hotel, located opposite the Des Voeux Gardens, is a historically significant hotel in the area. Many European royalty and nobles have stayed here during their visits to Fiji. π Entertainment: The traditional "firewalking" performance is a unique cultural experience not to be missed! π₯ π Best Time to Visit: August is the peak tourist season in Suva, as the city hosts the week-long Hibiscus Festival πΊ, during which the "Hibiscus Queen" is crowned, followed by a colorful parade through the streets. β οΈ Travel Tips: πΈ Photography is prohibited inside the Fiji Museum. π Stay safe! Avoid displaying valuables like cameras in public and refrain from walking alone at night. While the capital, Suva, can be complex in terms of safety, hotels and smaller islands are relatively secure. #WorldTravelSharing #Travel #Tourism #WeekendGetaway #Suva #Fiji
