Once a political and trade hub, it missed out on 20th-century railway development but preserved its authentic charm. The town features three remarkable fortress complexes: a former bishop's residence, a Stalin-era labor camp that held WWII POWs, and the ancient political center of a kingdom. Explore by boat π£, horseback π, or bicycle π² β but the best way is on foot π£! The town is less than 6 km around. Wander through green paths and lakeside trails, accompanied by melodic church bells π.
