Swansea-Rhossili-Tenby 2-Day Car-Free Travel Guide
Swansea, Wales' second-largest city, is the gateway to Rhossili Bay (voted UK's most beautiful coastline on Tripadvisor) and the charming seaside town of Tenby, famous for its colorful houses and sandy beaches. All three destinations are accessible by public transport! Starting from Cardiff, I embarked on this coastal adventure to collect stunning seascapes. 🌊 Day 1 🌟 Cardiff → Swansea (Train) Direct train (~1h) 🌟 Swansea Bus Station → Rhossili Bay (Bus 118/119) The bus station connects to Quadrant Shopping Centre (15min walk from train station). Free & clean toilets near Boots (station toilets cost 40p). Buses run hourly (often delayed)—check timetables! Stock up on snacks at nearby Greggs/supermarkets (limited food options in Rhossili). Pay by cash/contactless (change given for cash). 1.5h scenic ride—spot animals & even cows crossing! 🐄 🌟 Rhossili Bay (2-3 hours) Walk straight ahead from the stop—toilets near the car park. Extremely windy & cold! Bring a windproof jacket/scarf (hats may fly off!). Explored the clifftop path—stunning views of Worm’s Head (tidal island). Skipped the beach (saving energy for Tenby), but Rhossili offers both cliffs + sandy shores for photos/swimming. 🌟 Swansea Bay Sunset Took the bus back, then walked 30min (or bus) to Swansea Beach for a breathtaking sunset. Day 2 🌟 The National Waterfront Museum Free entry! Chronicles Swansea’s industrial/maritime history. Photo tip: The 2nd-floor viewing deck overlooks a yacht-filled basin. ⛵ 🌟 Swansea → Tenby (Train, ~1.5h) Left at noon—4 hours is enough to explore (longer if taking boat trips). 🌟 Tenby Highlights Famous fish & chips (ask for extra ketchup!)—eat by the beach. 🍟 Freezing water! Swimming not advised, but you might spot seafood at low tide. Paid toilets (40p, no change—cards accepted). #UKTravel #SouthWales #Swansea #Tenby #RhossiliBay #CardiffDayTrips
