Switzerland | Kunsthaus Zürich
🏛️ The art museum consists of two buildings facing each other across the street, connected underground. A vast collection of original works by Van Gogh, Monet, and Picasso can be found in the CHIPPERFIELD building (the light-colored one), on levels 1-2; the other building is called MOSER, with levels 0-1-2, where special exhibitions are held, and there's a black plaque at the entrance. 🎫 Admission: Free for under 17s, free every Wednesday, and free for art students from Swiss universities. Adult tickets are 23 CHF. Prepare 1 or 2 CHF coins for free lockers to store your bags. Free WiFi is available. 🕰️ Opening Hours: Closed on Mondays. Tuesday, Friday to Sunday from 10:00-18:00; Wednesday to Thursday from 10:00-20:00. 🖼️ Monet's Works: As a non-art student, I found that most of the paintings I like come from Monet. As the most central representative of Impressionism, he didn't depict grand historical or mythological scenes; instead, he painted real people and landscapes, capturing the changes in light and shadow, the direction of the breeze, and paired with the most tender color schemes, serene and beautiful. Van Gogh's brushstrokes can make one feel life and power. Van Gogh's self-portraits, the cypresses in the wheat fields, and works from shortly before his suicide convey an oppressive atmosphere. The light and shadow show at the Zurich Art Museum, accompanied by background music, has many people sitting on the floor, so relaxing that one might want to fall asleep right there 💤. ✨ Visiting Experience: The art museum was a great surprise to me, just like the city itself, small but exquisite and rich. There are many paintings by Monet and Van Gogh, and seeing the masters' originals, the emotions conveyed by their brushstrokes connect modern people with scenes from a century ago, a wonderful experience. For friends traveling in Switzerland who encounter rainy days or have ample time, it's worth a visit. #SwissArtMuseum #ArtMuseum #MonetGarden #ArtExhibition #Originals #SwissLife #WeekendGetaway #Switzerland
