Switzerland Travel 🇨🇭 Hiking 🌟 Mont Salève ⛰️ Autumn Lakeside Views
Just outside Geneva, Mont Salève (mostly located in France) offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Geneva, the Alps, and the majestic Mont Blanc. If you prefer not to hike too much, you can take the cable car to higher elevations for even more stunning scenery. #SwitzerlandTravel @Wanderlust 🚌 Transportation From Geneva city center, take Bus 8 to the final stop, Veyrier, Douane. The return trip departs from the same spot—check the schedule in advance. 👣 Hiking Route 1️⃣ After getting off the bus, cross the train tracks to reach a fork in the road. Follow the pink markings on the ground, staying on the leftmost path. At the trailhead, you’ll spot a big pink smiley face. 2️⃣ Once on the trail, follow the white-and-red square markers. The initial ascent is steep, with handrails for support. ⚠️ Avoid the small path on the right at the start—it’s easier but leads through a construction tunnel before rejoining the main trail. Stick to the marked route! 3️⃣ Keep an eye out for signs to L'Observatoire. Most of the path is dirt and loose rocks, which can be slippery after rain (many hikers use trekking poles). 4️⃣ After passing the Shedrub Choekhor Ling Tibetan Buddhist monastery, you’ll reach a large meadow used for paragliding practice—locals often hike up with their gear. 5️⃣ L'Observatoire is the endpoint of this hike, but if you have time, continue to Panorama sur les Alpes for sweeping Alpine views. ⏳ Time Estimate Round-trip from L'Observatoire to the base takes ~3h40min, but many hikers pause to watch paragliders or picnic at the viewpoints. 🔅 Don’t Miss This Scenic Spot! 📍 Point de vue Mont Salève 3310 Rte des 3 Lacs, 74560 Monnetier-Mornex, France (Search on Google Maps for the exact location!) #HikingTrails #OutdoorAdventure #TravelPhotography #SwissHiking #NatureEscapes
