Taking Our Little Dog on a European Road Trip โ 3,700 Kilometers in Two Weeks
A two-week, 3,700 KM road trip with our little canine companion, visiting six European countries. Our pup has turned a few more pages in the book of the world. Traveling in the summer with a brachycephalic dog can be quite challenging, so we have to be extra careful. We opted for a very leisurely trip, booking our itinerary and accommodations as we went. We only booked the first night before departure, but fortunately, pet-friendliness is high across Europe, and self-driving made it easy to find pet-friendly hotels even in peak August. Our little dog has been showered with love from people all along the way. ๐ Itinerary: 14 Days ๐ซ๐ท France: 4 nights Of course, we had to visit our pup's homeland! We randomly chose a few small towns to visit: Saint-Rรฉmy: Another town associated with Van Gogh. Lourmarin: The last place where French writer Albert Camus lived. Fontaine-de-Vaucluse: A town with cool, refreshing springs, perfect for keeping pigs cool in summer. Annecy: A flower-filled town with many tourists, but the scenery is stunning. Our dog rolled on the lawn by the lake, and everyone complimented her. ๐จ๐ญ Switzerland: 4 days, 3 nights Lake Geneva and the town of Spiez Lungern Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald Lucerne ๐ฑ๐ฎ Liechtenstein : A super tiny country, didn't expect to visit for two years in a row! It's on the way to Austria. ๐ฆ๐น Austria: 2 nights Innsbruck Obernburger See Lake ๐ฎ๐น Italy: 4 nights Dolomites Lake Como ๐ฒ๐จ Monaco: One of the richest countries in Europe, our little dog was petted everywhere, even by luxury store staff and doormen. The ninth country for our pup. All the countries mentioned above are extremely pet-friendly! Italians are particularly fond of dogs โ our little one's head was petted even flatter in ๐ฎ๐น. There were no cold shoulders, no prejudices, and no paranoia, only friendly strangers with "wandering hands" and good intentions. Dogs should play in places without ceilings and with love and tolerance. We hope our little dog will always be healthy, happy, and carefree, and we will visit many more places together in the future! #TravelingWithDogs #DogFriendlyTrip #EuropeanTourism #DogAdventures #SpainTravel #FranceTravel #SwitzerlandTravel #ItalyTravel #BabyFood
