Taking Your Advice! Arrived at the Caucasus' Sky-high City - Sighnaghi

This is the birthplace of world wine, with over 8,000 years of winemaking history 🍷 Described by Lonely Planet as the most beautiful town When I slowly raised my drone, I discovered it was like a "sky-high city" nestled in the Caucasus Mountains If you have enough time, I highly recommend staying overnight Stroll along the cobblestone streets, watch a sunrise or sunset 🌄 And soak in the romance and tranquility 🚕 Transportation: Tbilisi → Sighnaghi 📍 Samgori Bus Station, 10 GEL/person Departure times: 9:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00, 18:00 (mostly punctual, takes about 1 hour 40 minutes) The latest return time from Sighnaghi is 18:00, so a day trip is entirely feasible 🌟 Must-Visit Spots & In-Depth Experiences 🌟 1⃣️ Classic Photo Spot: Sighnaghi Viewpoint This place captures the essence of the town! Red rooftops, church spires, and snowy mountain backgrounds form a classic "fairy-tale town" panorama. Highly recommend waiting here for a sunrise/sunset—super romantic 💕 2⃣️ Red Wine Ice Cream: Cafe Medea 7 GEL per serving. Personally, the red wine flavor isn’t as strong as expected, but it’s quite tasty. Paired with the terrace view, sitting here and daydreaming is pure bliss~ 3⃣️ Family Winery: Kerovani Winery Feels like quite a few Chinese tourists visit here—the host speaks fluent Mandarin. They’ll take you to the cellar, explain their traditional Qvevri winemaking process, and offer tastings of different wines. I tried a set for 45 GEL💰, including sparkling wine, white wine, red wine, and dessert wine. 4⃣️ Ancient Walls: Sighnaghi Wall Known as the "Great Wall of Georgia," built in 1762. The visitable area is much smaller than I imagined. 5⃣️ 24-Hour Marriage Registration Office Sighnaghi is famous for its non-stop marriage registration service, though it’s no longer 24/7 post-pandemic. 🏡 Accommodation Apartment Giorgi in Sighnaghi Steps away from the main attractions, with views of St. George’s Church from the yard. The room is clean and includes breakfast. P.S. There’s even a cat 🐈 that joined me for breakfast—so cute! Upon arrival, the host will ask if you’d like tea or wine. When in Rome, why not start with a glass of 🍷? (Typical wine town vibes, lol) 🍽️ Dining Tried the popular hilltop restaurant The Terrace Signagi. Around 150 RMB per person, but the food was just okay. The view, however, is great—overlooking the entire town. If you want a terrace seat in the evening, reservations are recommended. Don’t get your hopes up for the restaurants here—I couldn’t even find instant noodles at the supermarket. Suggest bringing your own instant noodles if you’re planning a trip here… 🥹 #Sighnaghi #Georgia #Tbilisi #TransEurasianAdventure #CentralAsiaTravel #TravelEnthusiast
