Talula's Garden So Beautiful I Almost Took the Tableware Home
Brussels Sprouts & Bacon ‘Bake’ HIGHLY recommended appetizer—a total “sweet-savory dynamo” you can’t miss! The roasted Brussels sprouts are crispy on the outside and tender inside, smothered in melty cheese and bacon sauce. It’s so delicious you won’t be able to stop eating 😋. Roasted Chicken & Gnocchi Huge portion! The chicken breast is super flavorful—after a few bites, it even tastes a bit like Texas-style roasted chicken. The only minor flaw: the roasted chicken and gnocchi feel like separate dishes, just plated together (no real flavor pairing). When we were leaving, we noticed every table ordered this 😂😂—turns out Americans really love chicken breast! Lamb Bolognese Again, the portion is incredibly generous. I saw some people warn against this dish before, but I actually think it’s better than the roasted chicken! The ground lamb has zero gamey taste, and the wide noodles with rosemary are cooked to perfect al dente—no complaints at all 👌. Sides: Cornbread & Charred Cabbage These two sides are MUST-ORDERS! The cornbread is packed with green onion flavor, adding more depth than regular cornbread, and it comes with special homemade butter—I’m totally obsessed with it 😆. The charred cabbage tastes surprisingly “Chinese-style,” with added apples that cut through greasiness and keep it refreshing. Each side is only $7-$8—total value for money! Meyer Lemon Soufflé Cake There are lots of dessert options, but we only got this one because the main dishes were so filling. The lemon soufflé is perfectly balanced—sweet with a tangy kick—served with shortbread. The raspberry sorbet is as tart as expected 🍋. Next time, I’ll definitely try other desserts! Ambiance & Tips 🌟 The restaurant is incredibly beautiful—the plates and tableware were so pretty when we sat down, I almost wanted to take them home! The space is a bit cramped though: we got a private round table, but nearby tables were quite close to each other. 🅿️ Parking is street-only. We drank a lot of water after getting home—probably because the dishes are slightly on the salty side. 📍 210 W Washington Square, Philadelphia, PA 19106, United States ✏️ Summary: Average cost is around $80 per person. It’s one of the rare restaurants where I felt the value for money was great after eating. I’ll definitely come back to try other dishes 🥰🥰! #AmericanDailyLife #Philadelphia #PhillyArea #PhiladelphiaFood #PhiladelphiaLive #NewAmericanCuisine #DateRestaurant
