Taste of Maine β A Lobster Roll Journey! π¦π½οΈ
Took a delicious trip to Maine on Election Day to try their famous lobster rolls β and hereβs the scoop! π Eventide Oyster Co. Lobster Roll: $22 for 3oz. Buttery sauce + warm, soft brioche (the only one served warm!) made it rich and flavorful in one bite π§β¨ Whoopie Pie & Oatmeal Cookie: Not worth it β the Whoopie Pie tasted like mass-produced snacks. Skip them. Others tried the burger and baked potato β average and overpriced. Verdict: Not recommended β π Bite into Maine (Food Truck) Known as Portlandβs must-try lobster roll! Lobster Roll: 4oz/$29 or 6oz/$37 β go for the large! π¦ Six flavor options. I chose classic Maine style: huge, tender chunks of lobster. The buttered bread was the most fragrant of all, though served cold (wouldβve been even better warm!). Served with lemon and chips (chips were meh β just filler). Whoopie Pie: $4 β thick chocolate layers with brownie bits and creamy filling. Delicious! Verdict: Highly recommended! ππ« π Blaze (Bar Harbor) A spot known for steak, seafood, sandwiches, pizza, and tacos. Fruits de Mer for Two: $175 seafood platter (shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, oysters, crab claws, lobster). Cleanly prepared but served with plain butter β overpriced and underwhelming β Seafood Risotto: $44 β barely any lobster, undercooked rice, weak flavor. Avoid! Tomahawk Steak: $175 β 2+ pounds, perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. Comparable to Wolfgangβs! π₯©π₯ Recommended! Lobster Roll: $38 β standard taste and portion. Nothing special. π Thirsty Whale (Bar Harbor) A casual American bar/restaurant near Acadia National Park. Lobster Roll: $27 for 4oz β decent portion, but bland sauce and unremarkable bread. No standout features. Final Thoughts: Bite into Maine π takes the crown for best lobster roll β generous, flavorful, and worth every penny! Blazeβs tomahawk steak is a win, but skip their seafood. Thirsty Whale and Eventide were forgettable. #Portland#LobsterRoll #MaineEats #FoodReview #BarHarbor π¦
