We originally went just to “try our luck”—never thought it’d turn into a total sea urchin bonanza! 😱 My friend usually has such bad eyesight he’d miss money on the ground… but when it comes to spotting sea urchins? He’s a pro! One glance, and he’d find a whole cluster; every grab, a perfect catch. We climbed rocks like pros and waded into the water—total “spider-man mode” for seafood! 🕷️ In just 30 minutes, we left with our hands (and bags) full—such a huge haul! 🎉 📍 Location: North Rock Light It’s a beach covered in seashells—once you find the rocky areas, you’ll spot tons of mussels and turban shells (jiangjunmao) right away! 🐚 For sea urchins, you’ll need to wade a little deeper into the water—head to spots where the water’s a bit deeper and waves are bigger, that’s where they hide! #NewZealand #NZSeafoodForaging #NZSeaUrchins #SeaUrchins #ForagingByTheSea
