Texas Food Adventure | Omakase vs. All-You-Can-Eat Sushi π£β¨
Recently went on a road trip to San Antonio and Austin π£οΈ for a fun little eat-and-explore tour β here are some tasty highlights! π Shiro Japanese Bistro A refined fine-dining Japanese spot with impressive omakase! π± β Must-tries: Nigiri Mix & Exclusive Nigiri Mix β Let the chef choose! 7β8 pieces of beautifully crafted nigiri with fresh, flavorful fish. π Zigzag Handroll β Crab, avocado, special sauce, all wrapped in a fish roe sushi roll. Just thinking about it makes me hungry again! π₯ β οΈ Tip: Popular and reservation-only, but totally worth it for omakase or special occasions! π Izumi Sushi Hibachi A super affordable all-you-can-eat sushi spot! π β The experience: They arrange your order beautifully on the plate! Includes appetizers, teriyaki bowls, tempura, sashimi, sushi rolls, and more. Order as much as you want β just pace yourself! π β οΈ Heads up: The menu shows how many pieces come with each order. We were surprised to see multiple pieces of tempura per serving β no complaints though! π Toro Kitchen + Bar A cozy Spanish restaurant right by the River Walk πͺπΈπ β Highlights: Toro Paella β Classic seafood paella with shrimp, squid, mussels, chicken, and chorizo. Smoky, savory, and bright with lemon! π Pera y Morcilla β Spanish blood sausage with pear β uniquely delicious and not heavy. Fritura de Pulpo β Lightly fried octopus, perfect as a starter. π β οΈ Note: I actually liked the tapas more than the paella! Also, the live singer at night can get a bit loud π€, but the vibe and value still make it worth visiting! π #FoodReview #WeekendEats #TravelDiaries #Omakase #SpanishFood #Texas #SanAntonio
