The "World's No.6 Steak" That Disappointed Us
📍1a Lower Pembroke St, Dublin 2 🍖 Irish steakhouse chain since 1930 (now with online butchery) 🏆 Ranked 6th globally, but... 🍽 What We Tried 1️⃣ CHICKEN LIVER & FOIE GRAS PARFAIT (€14.5) Rich liver pâté topped with honey-wine jelly (sweet-salt balance!). Best spread on brioche toast—crunchy outside, soft inside. 2️⃣ SHORT RIB NUGGET (€12.5) Deep-fried beef croquette with funky truffle hints. Warning: Strong "beefy" taste—not for mild palates! 3️⃣ RIB EYE ON THE BONE (€72.5) 22oz dry-aged, charcoal-grilled (slightly overdone for medium). Comes with crispy onions + sauce (that Chinese BBQ-esque spice bottle was a vibe!). 4️⃣ CÔTE DE BOEUF (€110, for 2) 32oz ribeye + sides (creamy mash, truffle fries, etc.). Good meat quality, but again—overcooked. 5️⃣ TOFFEE APPLE CHEESECAKE (€9.95) Skip it! Mousse-like texture, weird meringue, MIA toffee flavor. Only redeemer: The chocolate sauce "Happy Birthday" writing. 💡 Verdict ✔ Meat sourcing = impeccable (butchery roots show). ✖ Execution = inconsistent (two steaks overcooked). 🎂 Birthday fail—stick to the steaks, avoid desserts. #DublinEats #SteakLover #Overhyped #IrishFood
