The Beautiful Seven Sisters White Cliffs
The Seven Sisters cliffs are a series of chalk cliffs that form a stunning coastline located in the South Downs National Park in the UK. Consisting of seven main chalk cliffs linked together, they are named “Seven Sisters” as they stand side by side, adjacent to the English Channel. They stretch for several kilometers between the coastal cities of Brighton and Eastbourne in East Sussex, southern England. 🏔️🏔️🏔️ Birling Gap White Cliffs ~ the filming location for the classic movie “Atonement” At the eastern end of the Seven Sisters, you can enjoy the most beautiful views of the cliffs. It’s conveniently located near a car park with a restaurant and restrooms. There are wooden ladders leading down to the beach. Following the cliffside path to the east and up, you’ll soon see the Belle Tout Lighthouse. Continuing along the path to the left of the lighthouse and descending the slope, you’ll see the iconic red lighthouse standing in the sea, known as Beachy Head Lighthouse. 🏔️🏔️🏔️ Beachy Head White Cliffs ~ the filming location for Jay Chou’s “What’s Wrong” music video Located southwest of Eastbourne in East Sussex, England, and east of the Seven Sisters, Beachy Head is a chalk cliff forming the coastline along the English Channel. The cliff is 162 meters high, making it the highest coastal cliff in the UK and a famous tourist destination. The name Beachy Head comes from the French “Beauchef” and “Beaucheif,” meaning “beautiful cape.” It’s also known as the English Cloud Cliff. Below the cliff, there’s a lighthouse standing 43 meters tall. The English Cloud Cliff guards the vital maritime route of the English Channel. The distance from Birling Gap to the highest point of Beachy Head is about 3 miles, with a walking time of roughly 1.5 hours. Please be mindful of the time when visiting. If you don’t want to retrace your steps, you can return via Eastbourne, a seaside resort town. ⚠️ Try not to walk on the beach; please consult the tide table as you might get cut off by the tide, depending on the current beach conditions and the possibility of rockfalls. ⚠️ The edges of the white cliffs can be very dangerous; always be careful when visiting. Keep at least a 5-meter distance from the cliff edges and the base of the cliffs when walking along the sea. Check the tide times to understand when the sea reaches its highest point and always keep the beach steps in sight. #SevenSistersCliffs #WhiteCliffsGuide #UKTravel #UK #WhiteCliffsDayTrip #BrightonWhiteCliffsTravel #UKInstagramSpots #UKCustomTravel
