The Best Cuban Food in Philadelphia’s Old City!

My friend and I spent a whirlwind day exploring Philadelphia. Although we’re currently waiting for a delayed train at the Amtrak station, the Cuban food we had for dinner was so delicious that I couldn’t wait to write about it. 📍 Cuba Libre 10 S 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19106 ✨Complimentary Pre-Meal Bread (only for the first round): The bread comes with mango-flavored butter, which has an almost ice cream-like texture. Crab Guacamole: My friend thought it was delicious, but I’m not a big fan of guacamole in general, so I found it just okay. However, the fried plantain chips and taro chips that come with it are quite tasty. ✨Paella Marinera: Highly recommended by others, but I was disappointed. It looks good, but the seafood was overcooked— the mussels were completely dried out, and the lobster was tough. I can’t recommend it. ✨Lechon Asado: This was the most impressive dish of the night. It’s roast pork tenderloin with a sweet and sour sauce. The sauce reminded me of sweet and sour pork, and the meat had a crispy exterior. The only downside is that there were some fatty parts. ‼️Cuban Flan: The Cuban flan tart is quite different from the French-style flaky crust with a moist filling. It has more of a jelly-like texture. Mami Totty’s Arroz Con Leche: This rice pudding is a bit like a combination of overnight oats and Thai sticky rice. I really liked it, but my friend thought it was just okay. #CubanFood #PhiladelphiaFood #PhiladelphiaFoodie #PhiladelphiaTravelGuide #PhiladelphiaTourism #PhiladelphiaLife
