🌳🐊 The Best Day Trip in NOLA!

Since most of our time in New Orleans was spent in the city (easy to explore by walking or Uber), and we’ve been way too busy and tired lately to rent a car 🚗💤, we opted for Gray Line—and it turned out to be perfect for those who don’t want to drive! I chose the Swamp Boat Ride & Oak Alley Plantation Tour (9 AM - 4:50 PM, $126 per person). 🌳 Itinerary: Met at Jackson Square before 9 AM and hopped on the tour bus. First stop: Oak Alley Plantation 🏛️. The guide shared fun historical stories along the way (great for napping 😴). At the plantation, only the mansion tour has a fixed time slot. The rest is free exploration. I was worried it might be too rushed, but there was plenty of time for photos! Absolutely stunning place. 🍽️ Lunch (Fig. 6️⃣): Had lunch at the restaurant next to the plantation. The gumbo was just okay, but the Seafood Au Gratin was delicious—a total surprise! 🧀🦞 Prices were very reasonable, especially for a tourist spot. 🎁 Souvenir Shopping: The gift shop offers a great selection: sugarcane products (the area is known for sugarcane farming 🍯), pretty-packaged teas, coffee beans, and more. Perfect for bringing a piece of Louisiana back home! 🐊 Swamp Boat Ride: At 1 PM, we gathered for the swamp tour. I’d seen alligators in Florida before, but this was next level—so many gators, and the scenery was beautiful! 🌿 We even got to hold a baby alligator… which made eating alligator meat for dinner later feel a little emotional 😅🐊💔 Pro tip: Eat the gator first, then come here lol! #NOLA #NewOrleans #ForrestGump #RedDeadRedemption #GoneWithTheWind #TravelNOLA
