The Best Lodge in the Amazon Rainforest - Anavilhanas🌿
This stop officially kicks off the Amazon adventure! We're mainly active on the Negro River, where the water is acidic—and surprisingly, there are very few mosquitoes. It's super tourist-friendly, finally saving us from the hassle of being bitten😌. Anavilhanas Lodge is about a 3-hour drive from Manaus (I only found out after setting off that there's a seaplane option—it takes just 49 minutes, what a miss😂). It's deep in the "heart" of the Amazon, and it's an all-inclusive stay—covering meals and daily activities. I personally think the value for money is pretty good. Talking about food, the main courses are decent, but the appetizers and desserts are just so-so. I still miss Nayara in Atacama, Chile, where the food was really delicious! While the meals here are a bit inferior, considering we're in the Amazon rainforest, this standard is already quite impressive. For activities, the schedule is arranged based on how many nights guests stay. You can check the last page for my 5-day, 4-night itinerary as a reference—there are night trips, jungle hikes, piranha fishing, pink dolphin watching, and more. But I heard that guests staying for 5 nights get a special arrangement: a Cave trip, which takes you deeper into the Amazon. It involves a five or six-hour hike in the forest, and it's definitely worth a try for adventure lovers! Unfortunately, I only found out after arriving and ended up missing this activity. What a pity😭. Another little tip: if you want a massage at the hotel, be sure to ask in advance whether the therapist is male or female! Because they default to male therapists😂 I only found out when I got there, had to cancel reluctantly, and even paid a penalty fee. Such a bummer... #Brazil#AmazonRainforest #AmazonRainforestLodgeRecommendation #TriangleCabin #HotelRecommendation #TravelDiary #HomestayRecommendation #MostBeautifulHomestay
